Collision Mitigation
As a part of AcuraWatch, which is standard on all Acuras, the Collision Migitaion System utilizes radar and camera technology to detect dangerous situations on the road. Once a detection happens, your Acura will provide visual alerts, and if action isn't taken in time, the system will apply the brakes automatically. While driving on the road, this system will continue to carry calculations based on your Acura's driving speed, the driving speed of the vehicle ahead of yours, and other critical factors to determine if action is necessary.
Keeping Your Distance
Other notable driver-assistance features that are beneficial for driving through traffic are the Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist System. These two excellent features are a part of the AcuraWatch package standard on all Acuras. With these features, you can have peace of mind knowing that your Acura keeps you centred in the lane and safely following traffic flow. The Adaptive Cruise Control feature will monitor the traffic ahead and follow traffic flow while maintaining the pre-set speed chosen. Paired with the Lane Keeping Assist System, your Acura will monitor the lane markings on the highway and proceed to remain centred. This system reduces the risk of under- and over-steering situations, and it also can help regain control when loss of traction happens. This system assists in these situations by reducing torque and applying brake pressure to specific wheels, but it happens so quickly that you won't notice it.
Blind Spot
Sometimes, changing lanes can be overwhelming since traffic can be dense and unpredictable. With the Blind Spot system standard on all Acuras, you can be confident driving through traffic and changing lanes since the Blind Spot system will continue to monitor your blind spots for other motorists. This system will increase awareness by alerting you using indicators and warning beeps.
